Frantz® brings its experience and reputation for engineering top quality conveyor bearings to Ball Transfers and Ball Casters with the introduction of EZ Glider®. Manufactured in Sterling, IL, EZ Glider Ball Transfers and Ball Casters offer both stud and flange mount styles with a variety of optional features and load ratings which dare you to compare. Frantz EZ Glider Ball Transfers are simply better than the competition. Providing quality engineered Ball Transfer options for our customers is a Frantz value. Unlike competitive alternatives, ALL of our EZ Glider Ball Transfers are available with ALL Stainless Steel componentry….down to the mounting bolts. Stainless Steel offers a greater range of protection from corrosion due to chemicals and the environment. These Ball Transfer bearings are often used in outdoor, wash down, highly corrosive, and food processing environments. Frantz® utilizes two types of Stainless Steel in our Stainless Steel Ball Transfer and Ball Caster offerings: | | 300 Series Stainless Steel | This material is an austenitic non-magnetic steel which cannot be hardened by heat treatment. The steel hardens under pressure of use and provides reasonably good life under moderate loads. 300 Series Stainless Steel has a higher corrosion resistance than 400 Series Stainless Steel and can be used in high heat applications with temperatures up to 850°F. However, as temperature increases into extreme ranges, depending upon the specific component involved, load rating declines due to the effect of heat on the chemistry of the metal. | | 400 Series Stainless Steel | This material is a martensitic steel which is hardened by heat treatment. The stresses of the hardening transformation cause the material to exhibit permanent magnetic properties if magnetized in the hardened condition. Corrosion resistance is lower than 300 Series material but load carrying capability in the 400 Series is equal to related carbon steel ball transfer designs. These Ball Transfers can be used in applications with temperatures up to 450°F. All Frantz Ball Transfer balls are made from 400 Series Stainless Steel.

| | Lubrication | All ball transfer models are designed to perform best dry. In determining Stainless Steel material types for Ball Transfer components, Frantz engineers selected a cost effective combination of material types best suited for our customer’s applications in the environments in which they operate. The most important components that determine bearing life are the Ball Race, the Main Ball, and the Nesting Balls. The Stainless Steel series type combinations are as follows: | | | Load Bearing Capability | Frantz engineers have designed our EZ Glider Ball Transfers to provide our customers with “Best in Class” Stainless Steel load bearing capability that match our carbon steel offering operating in normal conditions. Compare us to our competition. Ball Transfer materials may be substituted and modified to suit your application and to meet special needs for more extreme conditions.
