FRANTZ built its bearing reputation on the quality and performance of its commercial grade Non-Precision bearing assemblies for conveyor rollers. Superior bearing performance in dusty, gritty, sandy, and abusive environments calls for rugged bearing design and roller assembly. FRANTZ engineers designed Straight Faced Counterbore Conveyor Bearings to perform in these adverse conditions.
Rollers are often used in powered or gravity applications where conveyor bearings must be completely recessed within the confines of the roller. This is usually done to protect the bearing from dirt, grit, sand, and other particulate matter in places such as foundry, masonry, millwork, and granite type operations. These abusive applications require thick walled tubes or pipes to be counterbored in the roller assembly process. Special FRANTZ Straight Faced Conveyor Bearings are then press fit into the tubes. Another use of Straight Faced Conveyor Bearings is to push multiple bearings into the tube to lessen deflection and carry heavier loads. This technique enables smaller diameter tubes and reduces axle deflection to cost effectively carry heavier loads that ordinarily would require a larger diameter, more costly roller. It also allows for the construction of a lower weight, less bulky conveyor. FRANTZ engineers can provide further information on these cost saving measures.
Dusty, gritty, and sandy environments also require a regreasing and protection strategy to combat friction and ensure optimum bearing life. FRANTZ offers regreasing design and protection options for our Straight Faced Counterbore Conveyor Bearings. Click for more information on

Finally if recessing the bearing into the roller tube is not required, all FRANTZ flanged press fit bearings will perform well in counterbore type roller applications. Superior field performance in particular has been noted for our GenStar
