FRANTZ built its bearing reputation on the quality and performance of its Commercial grade Unground Non-Precision bearings for conveyor rollers. Given that quality mounting is directly proportional to the life of the conveyor bearing and its performance, FRANTZ engineers have focused on mounting techniques and conveyor bearing design as an important component of the FRANTZ value to our customers. Swaging is perhaps the most secure way to marry tubes to flanged conveyor bearings. For abusive applications swaging eliminates the added expense of welding conveyor bearings into tubes. FRANTZ is
alone in marketing a wide variety of flanged conveyor bearings
specifically designed for swage mounting. Along with our traditional
Open Style-Traditional and
Open Style-Double Race swage designed conveyor bearings for smaller diameter tube sizes, we have designed our
IronGrip metal housings and adapters to allow GenStar
® Precision, GenII
® Semi-Precision, and Commercial Unground Non-Precision flanged conveyor bearings to be securely swaged into tube sizes up to 4”.
Many FRANTZ customers, however, build conveyors where rollers are subjected to
extra ordinary abuse. Often, conveyors are fitted with Chain Driven Live Rollers (CDLR) to convey heavy and bulky materials such as heavy pallets, drums, granite, and lumber. Click for
Sprocketed CDLR Bearing and Roller Solutions. Rollers required in these abusive applications are typically larger diameter (2 ½in + ). Open Style-Traditional and Open Style-Double Race flanged conveyor bearings are not available in these sizes and some customers have sought an alternative to Adapter Style flanged conveyor bearings to meet their challenges. When attempting to use Press Fit conveyor bearings in conveyors subjected to severe shock and load, customers have seen tubes stretch out at the bearing. The option of further securing Press Fit bearings into these rollers requires adding a costly welding operation.
FRANTZ engineers have developed a unique solution for these customers with the introduction of our
Power Swage 2.5” Flanged Conveyor Bearings. They modified the design of our popular 2500 series bearings that has long been used in abusive and CDLR applications by tapering one of the outer races to allow for a secure swage on body of the bearing, not just on the lip of the housing. The result is an already rugged 425lb bearing that is swaged in place to handle the toughest abuse that your application can dish out while avoiding costly welding activities.
This unique bearing is available ONLY from FRANTZ Manufacturing Company.
